This week has been extraordinarily stressful. It has been a week of learning that sometimes you have to let things go. Sometimes you have to learn afresh to trust that people can and will achieve what they say they will, and sometimes you are forced to place your time and energy only in the things that will actually benefit from it. To say I am exhausted would be a massive understatement. I have spent today doing menial jobs that I can comprehend and that I feel will achieve some sort of satisfactory outcome. I feel as if I am walking through a thick fog, desperately hoping that it will clear.

I am so thankful for a weekend to recoup and rejuvenate. We have no plans, and for that too I am thankful.

Having said all of that, I am thoroughly looking forward to next Thursday when we are flying overseas for a short holiday – I can’t think of a time in my life besides this one that I have felt more like I needed one.

How about you? Has your week been good or bad? There is such relief in knowing that tomorrow is a fresh start, isn’t there? Here’s hoping for a restful and refreshing weekend for you all, and for Monday, which is always full of promise!
